Tour Itinerary
Below is an example itinerary of the locations we will visit on a full day version of this tour.
Alistair will meet & welcome you oboard our luxury Mercedes vehicle and after settling in, we’ll head off for our first destination on the Isle of Skye.
Our first location is at Dornie, still on mainland Scotland, the world-famous Eilean Donan Castle. This iconic castle has been photographed by millions and played host to some famous film-stars when used as a film location.
Once parked up, you will have the option to join one of the Castle’s guided tours (admission fee not included) before finding the perfect spot for photographs, your mementos of a wonderful day.
The dramatic viewpoint of the Cuillin mountains at Sligachan is another picture-postcard location for photos. The old bridge, designed by Thomas Telford in the 1800’s could very well be straight out of a fairytale. If the weather is fair, we’ll stop here for a quick photo before heading on to our next destination.
Ever popular, the Fairy Pools are a top attraction on the Isle of Skye. The walk from the parking area takes around 20 minutes (remember your walking boots!) On a warm sunny day, the crystal clear water of the pools is mesmerising.
One of the Isle of Skye’s top culinary destinations is the famous Three Chimney’s Restaurant. This world-class dining spot is the ideal place for lunch (advance booking essential) where you will enjoy the finest foods from the Island prepared by one of the country’s top chefs.
Skye’s other famous castle is located at Dunvegan. We’ll head here for a tour around the castle (admission not included) where you’ll learn all about the clan MacLeod which still inhabits this castle in current day.
Skye is one of Scotland’s top Island whisky producers with no less than 4 distilleries on the Island. The most famous one is the Talisker Distillery and we will take you there for a tour and tasting (admission not included).
When the tour is finished, you’ll have time to browse the gift shop before we head off.
The pretty painted houses of Portree are a must see location. Before we head into the town we will stop at the Isle of Skye Candle Company’s factory and shop for a browse.
We’ll park up and let you explore the town for a hour, along with its pubs, gift shops and galleries.
We’re so close to the Old Man of Storr in Portree that it would be a shame to miss it out, so will include a whistle-stop visit for a photo.
We will set off from Portree back to your drop off location. Following a full and satisfying day, we won’t tell anyone if you have a snooze.
